Fix #3-Fit issues all around....

My StitchFix showed up early! It was slated for Monday but showed up yesterday instead.  I did cheat and look at my shipping list and was really looking forward to this fix.  So, without further ado, fix #3.  (Ps-if you're unaware of StitchFix, here's the gist. You fill out a survey with regards to your personal style and pay a $20 styling fee.  They send you a box with 5 items, that $20 goes towards the cost.  Keep all 5 items, get a 25% discount.)

Items #1 and #2-41Hawthorn studded blouse and Kut from the Kloth boyfriend shorts

I've seen the blouse in quite a few reveals and really liked it on other folks. I liked the white color of the blouse and the subtle pattern.  I was also super excited about the shorts. I've been wanting a darker wash boyfriend short and really liked the distressing.  However, I sensed trouble right away when I pulled them out of the box.

So, the top was too tight in the chest area and sleeves hit at a weird spot.  It actually doesn't look that bad but trust me, moving would have been an issue! The shorts had the exact problem I thought they would.  Too big.  Could pull them away from my waist about an inch or so right out of the box.  After a couple hours of wear I think they might have ended up at my ankles.  I also wonder if they're too long? Feedback on that would be appreciated! I did say maybe size down in my comments on the shorts.

Verdict:  Returned (both)

Item #3-Papermoon Lassie Split Lace top

I'm lazy so I just left the shorts on. I couldn't find a picture of this online when I was looking so this one was a surprise.  I love the color and the idea of the top but it was warm and a bit itchy.  I knew I wouldn't use it until fall at the earliest.  For some reason, the slanty lace also bothered me.

So, now that I'm looking at the pictures today, I actually like this better than I did yesterday.  Maybe I'll request it again once we're closer to fall and cooler temperatures.  It does draw a LOT of attention to my butt, which I'm okay with...stuff to contemplate I guess!

Verdict:  Returned (for now?)

Item #4-Pixley Turk Tank top

I had pinned this on my board pretty much right after StitchFix had posted the picture on Pinterest.  I think it is a great piece that could be dressed up and down just as easily.  I also feel like it is a very classic basic.

Verdict:  Kept!!  Yay!!

Item #5- Mystree Elene Cutout Dress

Um, yeah.  So, I loved the idea of this dress but once again I knew it was trouble out of the box!  WAY too small.  No stretch whatsoever and only a side zipper. I think it would have been wonderful if I could have gotten it over the girls.  I also would probably be stuck in it for forever..  Hanger pictures are all that were possible!

Oh how I wish this had worked!!

Verdict:  Returned

So I'm pretty consistent with my 1 for 5 fixes, although I think the styling was closer to what I am looking for with this fix.  I would have kept all 5 if I could have.  It was fit issues that prevented it.  I have to be moving in the right direction that way!

Happy tote day!

June's tote day is already here! Bought my large tote this morning at lunch with no problems at all.  My chosens were the Fun and Fresh tank in black elephant (to pair with my mint skinnies) and the cool contrast dress in black. I also was able to get a pair of boyfriend jeans and added on the cool cutout shirt in white.  YAY!  I'm excited as always for my tote.  I'm heading out on vacation as well so I'll have plenty to distract me from obsessively checking its status.

Worked this weekend and had one of my strangest requests ever.  Lady (comes in all the time, we don't fill rxs for her and she's a bit...ok a lot odd) came in and came to the drop off window. She proceeds to set a smoke detector down on my counter and asks me to fix it. Um, ok.  I couldn't get the battery door open and wasn't going to mess around with it much because if I broke it, the world would have probably ended.  Propane tank at the high rise apartment building across the street from us caught on fire...they evacuated the place, to the front lawn.  Thought it was a bit of a face palm moment but luckily no one got hurt and the building itself didn't explode.

Off to watch last night's Game of Thrones on the elliptical!

Fashion overload! Stitch fix #2, Golden Tote and more!!

Holy cow did I get mail today! Pretty sure everything I have ordered in the past couple weeks showed up today. Sit back, relax and get ready to look at a bunch of pictures!  My phone isn't flipping the pics correctly so they look kinda squished. I'm really not THAT short and squat! :)

Stitch fix Fix #2
I received my second fix today just in time before I leave on vacation.  If you've never heard of Stitch Fix the basic gist is you fill out a survey, pay a $20 styling fee, and they send you 5 items based on that profile and your Pinterest board (if you have one).  I'm not getting paid by StitchFix for my opinions. They are honest and all my own (hubbster is working nights).  If you would like, I do have a referral link.  Stitch fix referral

I was kind of meh on this fix to tell the truth. Might have been due to the awesome totes I got and tried on first but still...Here's what I got!

Both of these items were in my fix.  The skinnies are more than I spend on jeans (ever) but I'm beginning to realize that you do get better quality stuff.  Anywho, they are made by DL1961 and are the Moscow skinny jean.  They have modal in them which makes them super soft. They also had a nice amount of stretch.  Verdict: Kept

Also in the picture is the Pixley Digby Embroidered Halter Top.  It was a very cute item.  Would have required some bra alteration but I have plenty that convert to a halter.  The problem was with the fit.  I'm a busty gal and this shirt was actually too big for the girls/my chest! I actually had about an extra inch on both sides under my arms. It made for a very odd look to the shirt.  Here you can kinda see it.

Verdict:  Returned

Next item was the Papermoon Holland Zipper Detail Blouse.  This top was featured in one of the Stitch Fix blog posts about preppy styling.  They had paired it with white jeans, which I specifically requested to no luck. I paired it with the great skinnies they did send though.

Cute top but I just wasn't in love.  It was a very basic piece and it would have many places I could use it but my problem is I don't see me actually using it.  Verdict:  Returned

The next thing I got was the Heathrow Hammered Bar Cuff by Zad. I'm not sure if this piece was bendable, I didn't want to try it because I knew it was going back.  This cuff was ginormous on my super petite wrist. It fit on my arm almost at the elbow!  Cute bracelet but with the size issue and the fact I got a very similar product from GoldenTote, it had to go back.  Verdict:Returned

The last thing I got was a Renee C Huebert Space Dye Open Cardigan.  Yes, I live in the northern part of the United States, however it does get quite warm here in the summer.  I probably wouldn't use this item until the fall.  I have other Renee C products but this one fit kinda weird in the forearms. It was too tight there (apparently I have weird arms).  I took a picture of this with one of my GoldenTote items so it's a perfect transition from Stitch Fix to GT. :)

The dress was one of my chosen items this month, but I'll discuss those more in a bit.  As far as the cardigan goes, it went back. Cute but not something I need.  Verdict:Returned

So like I said, a meh fix.  I'm thinking I need to change my profile some.  I don't like the things they have in the romantic picture but I do like lace/crochet details.  I indicated I'd like more fun summery stuff and that my workplace is a sauna in the summer. Hopefully #3 will be better.

On to GoldenTote! This was much better than my most recent fix. GoldenTote is kind of like Stitch Fix in that you fill out a questionnaire about your tastes but with this you pick out 2 chose a for a large tote or 1 for a small.  Their stylists then pick out surprise items for you. 1 if a small tote, 3 or 4 for a large.  I splurged this mint and picked up two totes since I wanted some cute stuff for my vacation.  Here's tote one!

Chosen #1 was the black All Occasions dress.  That is the dress I paired with the cardi from StitchFix.  Here's it without anything added and with a belt!

I absolutely love this dress. It is a beautiful fabric and is super easy to dress up or down.

Chosen #2 Boyfriend shorts by Just Black

Another item I fell in love with right away. These are also super soft and comfy. They have a fair amount of stretch to them and I was glad I sized down to a medium.  I have the shorts paired with a surprise item by Le Lis. This looks like a perfect outfit for a baseball game!

The back of this tank was super cool also.

Also in this tote I got one of my surprise requests!  I've never tried that before but was pleasantly surprised!  The item I requested was an Owl Printed Top by Le Lis.  I paired it with a Tea and Rose solid Midi Skirt I was sent in charcoal as a surprise as well.  Not too sure about the length of the midi skirt but I figure I can just pull it up higher if I need to.

Making a guest appearance is Mylo. :)

The last item I received in this tote was a Potters Pot High Low Tie Waist dress.  This went down kinda low but I'm sure I have a different bra that would work.

Onto the second tote!

My first chosen for this tote was an item that I'm not too sure about.  The fit is a bit wonky.  The top/middle section feels baggier than I thought it would be.  This is the To Tie-Dye For Dress by Le Lis.

I'm just not sure on this one.  Maybe it'll grow on me. It's not bad, it's just not as good as I would have thought!

My second chosen item is perhaps one of my favorite dresses ever.  The trading board I belong to always raves about the Puella dresses.  I took the plunge and got one for myself this month.  They were right!  I did size down on this item and I'm hoping I can add on another one (or two) of the other available colors.  This is the Puella Mixed Media Swing Dress.

My surprises in this tote were outstanding for the most part.  I requested the Renee C Striped Short Sleeve Sweater and my stylist came through!  Here it is paired with my amazing boyfriend shorts!

It's a bit larger than I was expecting but I still love it!

My next item I hadn't seen on the boards before.  It is one of my favorite pieces!  Le Lis oversized tank with lace strap detail.  It is a gorgeous Aqua color with a floral print.

And yes, those are the boyfriend shorts!

My last two surprises from this tote were kind of meh.  One was the Grifflin Paris geometric shift dress and the other is a Very J v-neck tunic (with pockets!).

One I need to lose a bit more weight for and the other is in serious need of accessories!

I did get some a cessorieyfrom GT and I also got a free we're sorry gift that looked eerily similar to my StitchFix bracelet (but actually fit!)

I have more from a Mint Julep order and a Pinkblush order but I need to go to bed!  I'll post those tomorrow more than likely!
